The Farmer's Wisdom

Once upon a time there was a king who ruled over a country. He took great care of his people. One day while passing through the village he saw a farmer working. He asked the farmer: How much do you earn from this field?

The farmer replied: I earn four pennies. How do you make a living with four pennies? The king asked. The farmer replied: I lend one penny, put one penny in the well, borrow one penny and spend one penny on myself and my wife.

The king asked in astonishment: What does it mean to lend and pay and put in the well? The farmer replied very wisely: I owe a penny to my parents. Giving a loan means spending on my children and putting it in the well means spending in the way of Allah.

The king was very pleased with the farmer's wisdom and said to the farmer: Don't tell anyone the secret until you see my face a hundred times.

The next day the king mentioned this to all the ministers in his palace and asked them the same question, but no one could answer it. But the king's minister took a day's respite and set out for the same village.

The minister asked the farmer his answer: The farmer informed him of the king's condition. The farmer said to the minister: Give me a hundred gold coins, then I will tell you the whole story.

The minister answered the king the next day. The king became furious and called the farmer to him.

When the king mentioned that condition to the farmer, the farmer said: I told that to the minister only after seeing your face on the hundred gold coins. All the ministers sitting in the palace were astonished at the wisdom of the farmer.

The king, seeing the farmer's wisdom, appointed him his minister and began to make all decisions and consultations with him.

Kisaan Kee Samajhadaaree

Ek baar kee baat hai ek desh par ek raaja raaj karata tha. Vah apane logon ka bahut khyaal rakhata tha. Ek din gaanv se gujarate hue usane dekha ki ek kisaan kaam kar raha hai. Usane kisaan se poochha: Aap is khet se kitana kamaate hain?

Kisaan ne uttar diya: Main chaar paise kamaata hoon. Aap jeevan yaapan kaise karate hain?

Jab raaja ne kisaan se us sthiti ka jikr kiya to kisaan ne kaha: Mainne mantree ko sau raeeson par tumhaara chehara dekhakar hee kaha tha. mahal mein baithe sabhee mantree kisaan kee buddhi par chakit the.

Raaja ne kisaan kee buddhi ko dekhakar use apana mantree niyukt kiya aur usake saath sabhee nirnay aur paraamarsh karane lage.
